Be careful what you wish you for!

Not so long ago there was no television, only public exchange gatherings, radio, print, academia, and of course teachers providing students the history of Germany and the rest of Europe. In the late 1930’s, A radical by the name of Adolph Hitler took total control of all sources of information, within the short span of three years, anyone questioning him was considered a traitor to the Third Reich.

If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.

Unfortunately for those living in the 1930’s through the mid-1940’s many found their leadership in Chancellor Adolph Hitler. They embraced the word of ‘der fuhrer’ in the National Socialist German Workers Party (or Nazi Party) and followed him lock-step towards German Expansionism and the Aryan nation (Master Race-Herrenrasse)  which of course a predominant amount Germans and other northern European peoples, in their eyes; deemed the highest in racial hierarchy, a work in progress. This he sought to establish as a New Order along with seeking discriminatory legislation against Jews, as they were a threat to his New Order, as they were the bankers, the proprietors and held much sway due to this.

He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future.

Not long after he began this quest, he saw the threat of dissension in academia, as he also needed a scapegoat, he maintained that the Jews in Germany should be eliminated (later millions were exterminated), along with the opposing Academics those very people who initially supported his cause, were now the enemy, along with Poles, Gypsies, Homosexuals and Communist, he ordered his Gestapo (official political secret police of Nazi Germany and German-occupied Europe) to arrest those who spoke out against him and subsequently history shows us that tens of thousands of those very people who initially supported him found themselves in death camps, prison, disappeared or shot. This end results he almost accomplished, had it not for the combined forces of the United States and Russia. His only threat in building his New Order was past history, so his plan; ‘wipe it out, and now you are the historian’. The Germans held mass Book turnings in an attempt to erase history, in the end, only his words were considered true, as a side note; In Austria-Hungary, which was Hitler’s country of birth, weapons were outlawed, consequently in short order, when the German army invaded Austria, nary a shot was fired, as the populace had little to no protection from the invaders.

When you deprive people of their history, you deprive them of power.

Ruth Winegarten

Without yesterday’s historical references there is little reference; as history has long shown that knowledge of the past is the story that helps us deal with the future. Yet, it would appear that many today feel that past history is unnecessary and not representative of today’s modern thinking, unless of course, it is presented and carried out in their specific way of thinking, as in their eyes, ‘you are a racist if you believe otherwise’. The left now feels: “I disapprove of what you say, therefore, you may not say it.” So much for freedom of Speech at the other spectrum”.

Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it.
